I do not know if I need to purchase a different key (retail or Open License) to get the evaluation version to work. I used the slmgr.vbs /upk to remove the product key. The problem that I have right now is that I removed the evaluation product key from my server and the server is rebooting ever two hours or so. Typically this is done utilizing the OEM media that is shipped with the server. WILL MY SERVER 2012 STANDARD PRODUCT KEY WORK WITH R2 LICENSEWhen I try to use slmgr /ipk product key I get the following error.Įrror: 0xC004F069 on a computer running Microsoftwindows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004f069' to display the error text With Windows 2012 OEM or Windows 2012 R2 OEM license you get the ability to run 2 virtual machines on a virtualization platform. You must either run windows server 2012 setup or enter a windows server 2012 standard evaluation product key The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of windows server 2012. When I try to activate using the key that I have I get the following. Click Next to display the license agreement. A single license covers up to two physical. Editions are differentiated by virtualization rights only (two OSEs for Standard, and unlimited OSEs for Datacenter). Select Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (GUI installation), with the arrow key or mouse. Windows Server 2012 R2 will continue to have the same licensing model as Windows Server 2012, with two editions available in volume licensing: Standard edition and Datacenter edition. However, regardless of which DVD, Windows Server 2012 R2 Server Cores is the default. I purchased an OEM version of Windows Servers 2012 STD 2 CPU/VM for OEM Software. Notice that depending on the DVD you are using, you may see a slightly different set of options. I had to get the server up and running so that is why I downloaded the evaluation version from Technet. I have installed Windows Server 2012 Standard Evaluation on a new server and I am having a problem activating it.
